Animals Are Heroes Too
The animals we see in our world have many challenges just to stay alive. They are an inspiration and children seem to feel this.
Parents are always taking children to a zoo or a place where they know the kids will be able to see animals. The wonder of these creatures never ceases to amaze children and parents know it. It is an experience they can both have that always proves to be delightful. But why is it that we know this? Are we just sharing something warm and fuzzy with our kids?
I think it goes beyond that. We all have experiences as kids with a zoo, circus or a movie where the focus is on animals. So part of our love of those critters is in the sharing of memories. We want them to have a good time which we recall happens when we watch those furry members. But I think it goes further than that.
I believe our fascination with critters is because we can identify with them on a deeper level. Their eyes follow us, they can feel pain and have emotions. They are mobile like us and very often, they are cute. We have padded toy animals we go to be with that remind us of them. We all have favorites and cuddling with them makes us feel better.
Because we already feel at home with animals, I knew that these little faces would prove fascinating to kids and by placing them in my e-books for kids I am pulling them into my story which involves this animals and a little boy or girl. The adventures they have and the lessons animals teach are very helpful for children to use in their lives.
I aim to inspire and to let children know they have a strong ability to handle anything that comes their way. Animals do it all the time. So in effect, they are heroes too because they know how to persevere. That is a valuable lesson for anyone, not just a child.
